Rest Stop

Come and rest weary traveler
On this shoulder of the road.
Let your dreams carry you for a while.
Allow the ache within to subside, and
Listen to the whisper of your passion.

The road has nothing to give
Except what it takes.
Are you surprised at the toll?
What you didn't know you had,
Is the cost of that passage.

Everything that's left behind,
Nourishes your every step.
All of it becomes you
This very moment as you arrive,
And leave again. In this breath.

Take refuge here, in the knowledge
That the journey reveals
All roads lead to one.
And what appears to be lost,
Is returned in the end as the beginning.
